The famous card game with aluminium templates

In this page of Inquest magazine, there’s a surprising fact about how the Star Wars CCG card templates were made.
Instead of creating them entirely digitally, they asked a sign maker to machine them out of aluminium.
They then took photos, and added extra scratches and dints on the computer.
The advantage was that the card template looked very realistic, which matches the Star Wars aesthetic well.
