How much does it cost?

A license key is a one off payment of $19.99 - there is no subscription. It unlocks all functionality on both macOS and Windows, removes the watermarks, and includes 12 months of free updates.

Before buying, you can download the app and try it free for 14 days.

Can the app be used to design tokens?

Yes, Card Game Builder can be used to design tokens, boards etc - most components you need for your game.

What happens when my license key expires?

The license key entitles you to 12 months of updates to the app. After this period, the current app version you have will continue to work without any limitations, but you will have to purchase a new license key to use future versions of the app.

Windows show a SmartScreen warning - what should I do?

The Card Game Builder app is signed by Telery Limited, the developer behind it. As it’s such a new app, Windows is distrustful of apps until they build up a reputation. If you get a warning then choose ‘More info’, then ‘Run anyway’.

Microsoft Edge warns when downloading the app - what should I do?

Similar to above, Windows is distrustful of new apps until they build up a reputation.

You can download the app using another browser instead, such as Chrome.

Can I use the app to make proxy cards?

Yes, you can. Just be respectful to the original creators.

This is the Wizards of the Coasts policy:

Wizards of the Coast has no desire to police playtest cards made for personal, non-commercial use, even if that usage takes place in a store.

So printing out some proxies for playtesting at home, before purchasing the official cards, would be OK.

Also, you might have an old, out of print game at home which is missing some components. Card Game Builder could be used to make replacement components for your own personal use.
